IPS-PL Maxime Bernier

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Practicing at the DIX30 Clinic

The main reasons that led me to the nursing profession come from a lifelong desire to help others and contribute meaningfully to my community.

What I love most about my profession is that every morning, my primary mission is to help people improve one of the most important aspects of their lives: their health.

A lesson I’ve learned along the way is the importance of taking care of myself as much as I care for my patients, which can sometimes be challenging.

I began my healthcare career in 2009 as a patient care attendant. Over the years, I have progressed academically and clinically through various roles—care attendant, nurse, clinical nurse, and finally nurse practitioner—gaining experience in multiple areas, including emergency care, psychiatry, teaching, and primary care.

As a practitioner, I have a particular interest in optimizing patient health through annual check-ups, managing minor emergencies, and performing minor surgical procedures.
